ODSAL Sedbergh's long wait for Pennine League Championship Division win has finally came to fruition.

They notched a 40-8 home victory over Brotherton Bulldogs, having only led 12-8 at the break following touchdowns from centre Rob Priestley and prop Steve Barnes, both converted by full back Shaun Flynn.

But Sedge cut loose in fine style on the restart as Priestley and Barnes both completed their hat-tricks, alongside further efforts from substitutes Sam Hall and Nick Chapman.

It was a hard day at the office for Queensbury, who fell to a 52-16 home defeat at the hands of Premier Division leaders Fryston Warriors.

'Bury surprised the visitors when scrum half Jonny Norman scampered over early and added the extras himself.

Then an interception try from stand-off Billy Naylor helped the hosts into a deserved 10-6 lead, before Fryston's attack clicked into gear to post four unanswered tries out wide.

Queensbury had their chances, with full back Dan Clarke looking a certain scorer until a forward pass left the scoreboard untroubled, leaving Fryston in command 28-10 at the break.

The Bradford side's hopes were raised on the restart when prop forward Dan Hawksworth powered in under the sticks.

But it was a forlorn task and the Warriors' size and fitness proved too much to handle as they continued on their way to a massive final total.

Victoria Rangers came within a whisker of lowering Division One leaders Stainland Stags' colours in a 16-14 home defeat.

Wibsey Warriors were in splendid form to put Division Two visitors West Craven Warriors to the sword 50-26, while Clayton went a long way to ensure their Division Three status next term with a 24-0 home win against bottom side Kinsley Raiders.

The Villagers collected five touchdowns from Ryan Wilkinson (2), Jimmy Waddington (2) and Steve Housecraft but the man of the match was 17-year-old scrum half Josh Lanfear.

Division Six West table-toppers Victoria Rangers A had to work hard for their 25-16 success at Cowling Harlequins.

Rangers were only 14-12 in front at the break, following tries from Ray Greenwood and Jamie Kerr, but enjoyed a strong second half.

Touchdowns were registered by Ryan Khan (2) and Joe Bell – and they made the game safe with a Hayden Sugden penalty and a drop goal from Sam Thornton.
