Undercliffe Wildboars maintained their Pennine League Division Four title ambitions with a 36-16 win at Victoria Rangers in the north Bradford derby.

The Cliffe made early inroads when centre Willy Woodhead sent wingman James Roe over, and full back Aidan Scully added the conversion.

Hooker Isaac Brown then ran in from 40 metres and Scully added the extras before being sent to the sin bin for a foul tackle.

The reduction in numbers had little effect on the visitors' expansive game, however, with stand-off Ryan Dixon making the chalk and packman Kenny Smith ensuring the full reward.

Prop Ash Yarrow then barged his way to the line and Scully returned from his enforced absence to latch onto a Kaz Ahmed pass, adding the conversion himself to see the Wildboars into the break 28-0 up.

A rejuvenated Vics, under new coach John Hodgson, started the second stanza in style with two converted tries before Smith went over out wide.

The hosts once again reduced the arrears with a further touchdown that was so hotly disputed by Brown that he was given his marching orders.

Woodhead, who usually operates in the second row, then crowned a fine performance in his uncustomary centre role with another sprint to set up wingman Jake Butterworth to close  proceedings.

Wyke move into third spot in Division Two following a hard-fought 10-4 scrap against Doncaster Toll Bar at Towngate.

The game was a mudbath from start to finish, with both defences well on top in the opening half before the visitors struck first with an unconverted try when they prised open a gap from the ruck.

The black and whites dominated the game from then on in but struggled to find the final pass for the equaliser.

It was BARLA international packman Ash Hutchinson who, at last, ended the Doncaster resistance with a clean break that saw hooker Aidy Doherty side-step his way to the whitewash, and Mick Wormald added the extras.

Man of the match Wormald was again to the fore when he created the opportunity for wingman Kieran Helliwell to race in at the corner for a well-deserved victory.

Wibsey Warriors A's Steve Redmond was the star of the show, posting two tries and seven goals in the 46-36 Division Four success at Kellingley Welfare.

Danny Wood (2), Mark Gregory (2), Matt Castleden and Dave Coates also crossed.
