COUGARS have signed Liam Senior from Super League side Wakefield Trinity.
A second-row forward who can also play in the centres, Senior has been an integral part of Trinity’s under-19s side for the past two seasons, winning the Senior Academy Man of Steel in 2016.
Cougars head coach Craig Lingard has confirmed that the youngster was offered a first-team deal at Wakefield for the 2018 campaign but turned it down to focus on his studies as he is attending university to earn a work-place degree.
Senior made two appearances on dual-registration for Dewsbury in the Championship last season, featuring in their Easter fixtures as they defeated Batley and lost to Sheffield.
He did not make a competitive appearance for Trinity, though did play in a pre-season friendly against the Rams.
