THACKLEY face the toughest test of the three local representatives in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division on Saturday as they journey to joint leaders Tadcaster Albion.

However, the Dennyboys are in good form and have climbed the table after three consecutive victories.

Four wins from their last five games have taken Chris Reape’s side clear of the relegation zone and into 14th but they will be second favourites at Taddy.

Albion Sports are looking to bounce back from a heavy midweek defeat and could have been handed no better chance as they head to rock-bottom Brigg Town, who have picked up just two points from the last available 18.

Kulwinder Sandhu will need a reaction from his squad after Wednesday’s 5-2 home defeat to mid-table Pickering Town, when Albion led 2-0 but were pegged back before the break and endured a nightmare second half.

The lowest of the area’s trio of teams in the top tier, Liversedge, need to take points from the visit of Retford United.

Sedge have lost 11 of their last 12 league games and are third from bottom, four points above the trapdoor after playing three games more than Armthorpe Welfare, the club immediately below them.

Mid-table Eccleshill United would reach the 30-point barrier in Division One with a home win tomorrow and are in good spirits after three wins on the trot. However, they are hosting fifth-placed AFC Emley, who are on a good run themselves and are ten points better off.
