OFFICIALS in the Taylor's Timber West Riding County Amateur League are hoping for a dry spell so they can clear a backlog of league and cup games.

A full programme tomorrow would help, with Littletown – who have never lifted the Premier Division trophy – looking to increase the pressure on Huddersfield-based title rivals Golcar United.

Second-placed Littletown, who have had four of their last five games postponed, visit mid-table Salts, who they beat 3-0 in the reverse fixture back in September.

Steeton could do Littletown a favour as they travel to face leaders Golcar – and having beaten them 4-2 at home in September, the Bradford side could boost their own chances of a top-two finish by completing the double.

Newsome and Lower Hopton will put aside their league rivalry as they go head to head in the quarter-finals of the Premier Division Cup, with the victors meeting Golcar at Emley on Wednesday, March 22.

The second semi-final between Steeton and Littletown, which was due to be played on Wednesday, March 29, has been provisionally rearranged for Tuesday, April 25 at Campion.

The race for promotion from Division One is still wide open, with leaders Route One Rovers looking good to retain top spot this weekend as they travel to fifth-bottom Steeton Reserves.

Thornton United, who jumped up to fourth place after beating Westbrook YMCA last week, have games in hand on the sides above them and can enhance their promotion hopes with victory at Wibsey.

West Horton, who have only been able to use their own ground at Myra Shay twice since the turn of the year, have arranged to play tomorrow's home game against Ventus-Yeadon Celtic on the 3G pitch at Bradford Academy.

The first of the Bradford FA Saturday Senior Cup semi-finals between Fields and Salts (Craven League) will be played at Eccleshill United's ground on Monday (7.30pm).
