SALTS took full advantage of only leaders Lepton Highlanders of the five clubs above them in the West Riding County Amateur League managing to win.

They thrashed Bradford neighbours Tyersal 9-0 to complete a 15-1 double over the side struggling at the bottom end of the Premier Division table.

Joe Pleasance and Jonny Cunningham both netted trebles and they were backed up by goals from Sam Waterhouse, Tom Hickey and Mat Bailey as Salts climbed to third in the table.

Meanwhile, Lepton moved four points clear of second-placed Huddersfield YMCA with a 3-2 home victory over Campion, who slip to fifth.

Paul Swallow and Jacob Robertson scored for Lepton and although these goals were cancelled out by Jordan Missin and Gavin Armitage in the first half, Ricardo Ianzito claimed a winner for the Huddersfield side after the interval.

Lower Hopton and Steeton shared the points from a 2-2 draw, with Lincoln Adams and Danny Hildred scoring for the Mirfield hosts while Alistair Morgan and Andy Holden replied for the Bradford outfit.

Ovenden West Riding crashed to their heaviest league defeat of the season as hosts Littletown gained revenge for a 7-1 drubbing at the end of January.

It finished 5-3 as Ovenden dropped to fourth position, with Mat Bugg and Richard Newman backing up Joe Jagger's hat-trick for the home side. Jason Carney doubled up in reply and George Bamforth was also on target for the Halifax-based visitors.

Wakefield City's withdrawal from Division One has opened up the race for promotion, with both Overthorpe SC and Newsome – who had both twice beaten Wakefield – losing the six points gained from those wins.

This enabled DRAM Community and Honley, who had lost their only game against Wakefield, to close in at the summit.

Leaders Overthorpe kept up their bid to go up with a 2-1 victory at fourth-placed Newsome and are four points clear, while second-placed DRAM – who have two games in hand – edged out Holmfirth Town by the same score thanks to two Tebo M'Pala goals.

Third-placed Honley maintained their own promotion chances with a 5-2 stroll over second-bottom Steeton Reserves.

Ventus-Yeadon Celtic and Wibsey shared six goals in an entertaining draw at Dam Lane. Sean Jack (2) and Damien McDonough were the Celtic scorers, with responses coming from Daniel O'Donnell (2) and Joe Brooksbank.

Goals from Joshua Ludford, Chris Helliwell and Matthew Humm earned Campion Reserves a 3-1 victory over rock-bottom Westbrook YMCA.

The final of the Taylor's Timber Division Two Cup will be between the reserve sides of Salts and Littletown.

This is after Salts accounted for Lower Hopton Reserves 2-1 in their last-four tie, while Littletown were 3-1 winners at Golcar United.
