FOUR sides have dropped out of the West Riding County Amateur League ahead of the new campaign.

Storthes Hall pulled out both their first and reserve teams after losing a lot of players to the higher divisions. They will concentrate on rebuilding through the Huddersfield & District League.

They are the biggest departure, having won the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup three years running, Division One league and cup in the same season and the Premier Division cup and title within the following three years.

Lepton Highlanders will take their place in the top flight, with newcomers Holmfirth Town added to Division One.

Gildersome Spurs Old Boys, who only joined the league last season and finished second in Division Two, have also withdrawn and Tyersal's reserves team have stepped down, citing a lack of interested players.
