Campion set to be denied second spot

Campion’s hopes of finishing runners-up spot in the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division were all but ended after Bay Athletic moved second with a 2-1 home win over Lepton Highlanders.

The Bradford side bid to end leaders Ovenden West Riding’s run of 18 straight victories when they welcome them to Manningham Mills on Saturday. They lost to the Halifax side 3-1 two weeks ago.

Tyersal visit Bay Athletic aiming to be the first side to take a league point off them since early September.

Leaders Hunsworth face Westbrook YMCA in their final home game as they look to close in on the Division One title.

Other results, Premier Division: Storthes Hall 2, Golcar United 0; Division One: Steeton Res 1 (R Chapman), Salts Res 0.
