Thornbury Youth Community Centre continued their defence of the League Cup with a quarter-final victory over Bradford Arms.

In an even first half, superb goalkeeping by Amjad Tariq kept out Bradford Arms.

Thornbury took the lead with a superb header from Mohammed Ahmed before Temour Khan doubled their advantage.

Man of the match Nikash Yousef marshalled the Thornbury defence superbly and skipper Toseef Ashad made the game safe in the closing minutes.

In the league, Abundant Life climbed the table after sharing four goals and the points against White Abbey Road.

Lidget Green also moved up the table after hitting four goals against Sporting Athletic, a brace from Asif Chuanra, an own goal and Waheed Iqbal doing the damage. Athletic cursed their bad luck after hitting the woodwork three times.

In a game of two halves, West Bowling United gave Bradford All Stars a pounding in the first half, with a brace from Ikraaz Ashfaq giving them a two-goal lead. But in the second period All Stars hit three goals of their own to claim the points in a superb fightback.
