BRIGHOUSE Town Reserves suffered a 1-0 defeat in the Lancashire League at Ossett Town Reserves.

Assistant Brighouse manager Barry Thomas said: "It was a very close game between two evenly-matched teams but Ossett were always just a bit better organised and made better use of the ball at crucial times."

Brighouse now find themselves second from bottom but have games in hand on the teams above them.

Liversedge Reserves suffered a humiliating 9-0 loss at leaders Bradford RIASA.

Sedge started the game with only ten players and their numbers were further reduced when two players were injured.

* Bradford Park Avenue Under-19s gave a good performance against Northern Alliance League leaders Ossett Albion but lost 2-0 to leave them rooted to the foot of the table, still looking for their first point of the season.
