IT WAS derby day in the Spen Valley League First Division, and the all-Bradford clash didn't disappoint.

Leaders Palestino won 4-3 at Peel Park with goals from James Chadwick (3) and Abdul Qaum, next-to-bottom Girlington hitting back via Mohammed Qasim (2) and Saad Abbas.

Savile United and Savile Youth also met at Savile Playing Fields, with United triumphing 3-1 via Kaleel Ahmed, Faisal Adam and Shoaib Sadiq Patel, with Yusuf Akudi replying.

In the First Division, the top match was between second-placed Marsh and third-placed Inter Batley.

James Binns' brace for Marsh was capped by Haroon Laher's hat-trick for Inter Batley, whose win meant that the clubs swapped places.

Leaders George Healey put nine past bottom club Howden Clough, with Reece Scholes (4) and Simon Moore (2) being backed up by Lewis Boddy, Matthew Parkinson and Tom Coulthard, Shane Thornton getting the only goal for the hosts.

There was little, however, between fourth-placed Norfolk and improving sixth-placed Dewsbury West Side Reserves, with Ismail Loonat (2), Ilyas Loonat and Saad Daji netting for Norfolk, and Arfan Ali (2) and Amar Maqsood replying for the reserves in a 4-3 defeat.
