BRADFORD City Women's bid to bounce back from their FA Women's Cup exit tomorrow is boosted by the return of a familiar face.

Yasmin Ayub has re-signed for the club after eight years away and could go straight into the team after an injury to Ellie Olds.

Olds' contributions in a holding midfield role have been key in City's turnaround after a poor start but she now faces up to two months on the sidelines after tearing ankle ligaments.

So Ayub's return could not be more timely as the Bantams assess their options ahead of the visit of Newcastle United in the FA Women's Premier League.

Yet she is not the only player competing for Olds' spot as Jess Graham came back from injury in last week's 1-0 defeat to title favourites Blackburn and she is raring to go.

"It's the first time I've been injured properly in my football life, so it has made me even more determined to train harder," said Graham.

Her efforts since returning give player-manager Charlotte Stuart and her team plenty to think about as they prepare to face a Newcastle side scrapping for survival.

The Magpies sit at the foot of the Northern Division table but go into this weekend's game fresh from a 3-0 win over RACA Tyne in the FA Cup.

"The table may not reflect the ability of teams and we have to be ready to take three points from every game," said Graham, with the Bantams refusing to show complacency.

"We have to bring the same attitude and fight we brought against Blackburn to secure a win. We have amazing ability at the club and need to start showing it off."

Olds and striker Lucy Sowerby are ruled out tomorrow through matching injuries but the positive of Ayub's arrival is complemented by Rachel Newborough's availability.

After being ineligible for the FA Cup, the Doncaster Belles loanee could make her league debut for City, while centre-back Faye Boshell also returns from a knock.

Tomorrow's game at Eccleshill United's ground is a 2pm kick-off, with tickets costing £3 for adults, £2 OAPs and £1 children.
