THE gulf between the Premier Division and Division One in the Spen Valley League was emphatically shown by the latest four results in the Memorial Trophy.
All of the top-flight teams were at home and scored a total of 26 goals, while conceding only seven between them.
Girlington led the way with a 7-1 defeat of Savile Town in a battle of fifth-placed teams, with Mohammed Qasim (4), Saad Abbas, Umar Zahoor and Waqas Khan on target, Sajeel Qadir getting the sole consolation.
Savile Youth beat Norfolk by the same score but had just two marksmen – Abdullah Aswat (5) and Yusuf Akudi (2), with Ismail Loonat bagging the only reply.
Howden Clough managed an Ashton Roberts brace but also conceded seven at Savile United, whose goals came from Faisal Adam (3), Ismail Pandor, Uzair Kola, Rowan Ismail and Abdul Karim Mahmood.
The closest match was Division One leaders George Healey's trip to Dewsbury West Side, who are second in the top flight. Lewis Boddy, Andy Douglas and Mohammed Shoaib netted for the second-tier visitors.
