WYKE Wanderers are second in Division One of the West Yorkshire League after their 2-1 victory at Leeds Modernians.

Mods went in front before pressure on their defence saw Karl Fawcett equalise for Wyke with a chipped shot.

It was an even second half until a double substitution saw Joe Entwhistle and Nick Emmett enter the fray and change the game.

Matt Conway scored the all-important winning goal and although Mods tried to find a leveller, Wyke's defence stood firm.

Field recovered from falling a goal behind at Pool in the Premier Division to draw 2-2.

An own goal edged Pool ahead after 20 minutes but Field equalised with a well-worked goal from Toby Harris and the same player put his team ahead.

Nick Cowling was then sent off for two bookable offences, so Field had to play the last 35 minutes with ten men and Altofts scored their equaliser with ten minutes to go.

Field assistant manager Barry Dunne said: "It was a tough game but we played well and we should have possibly had a penalty when Aidan Day was brought down."

Field Reserves are fourth in the Alliance League Division One after their 2-1 win at home against Leeds Modernians Reserves. Adam Sharkey and Liam Lambert grabbed the goals for Field.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves moved away from the bottom area in Alliance Division Two after a resounding 4-0 thrashing of Brighouse Old Boys Reserves.

Gary Lupton's 25-yard shot steered Wyke ahead and Michael Stowell added a second goal with a header.

Wanderers dominated the second half and scored a further two goals through Jordan Hobson. His second was a neat turn and volley from the edge of the area.

Wyke secretary Dave Ryan said: "There were some very good performances from everyone but especially Paolo Lewandowski, who was given the man of the match award for his performance in centre midfield."

Baildon Trinity Athletic extended their unbeaten run in Division Two to two matches with a 2-2 draw against Altofts.

Steve Sample grappled with a group of defenders to hold the ball up for winger James Pinto to fire the ball into the bottom corner of the net with an 18-yard shot to put Baildon ahead.

Unfortunately the lead did not last long because Ben Craven was caught on the wrong side of his man while tracking back in his own penalty area. The spot-kick was despatched to change the score to 1-1.

Baildon continued to press and were awarded a free-kick in a dangerous position with 40 minutes on the clock.

Trinity's returning skipper Elliot Moody stepped up to float the ball over the wall and into the top corner from 25 yards, putting his side in the ascendency. Despite Baildon's hard work, Altofts managed another equaliser on 65 minutes.

Baildon continued to work hard with Lee Mathers in centre midfield and man of the match left back Lee Newall being two of many putting in a real shift for their team. Unfortunately for the home side they could not find a winner.
