CAMPION’S place in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One has been confirmed after the league’s annual meeting at Scarborough’s Royal Hotel.
The Bradford-based club are the latest from the area to step onto the football pyramid, and they will be joined by Nottingham-based Ollerton Town as newcomers.
There are also three clubs in the lower tier that were relegated from the Premier Division – Brigg Town, Pontefract Collieries and Nostell MW.
The top tier has three local representatives in Albion Sports, Thackley and Liversedge, who will be joined by Harrogate Railway Athletic.
The Rail have dropped back down from the Evo-Stik League, suffering relegation after a ten-year spell in the higher league.
During the annual meeting, the draws for the first two rounds of the NCE League Cup were made, and Eccleshill United were the unfortunate ones, being the only one of the five local sides across the two divisions to feature in the early rounds.
However, the Eagles have landed a home tie in the first round against Westella & Willerby and, should they progress, United they will again be at the Mitton Group Stadium, hosting fellow Division One outfit Hall Road Rangers.
The three top-tier sides and newcomers Campion were all handed byes in the first two rounds.
