BRADFORD City head coach Steve Winterburn can echo Phil Parkinson's recent suggestion that every game is a cup final for the Bantams men from now on.

In Winterburn's case he does actually have three of his sides in cup finals in the next month, but his sixth-placed side do have a chance of significant progress in the FA Women's Premier League (North) if they can maintain their winning run.

Tomorrow they take on third-placed Blackburn Rovers, at Eccleshill United, and a win would leave them only two points adrift of their opponents with a game in hand. It would also put leaders Preston in their sights.

Third bottom Guiseley Vixens continue their battle to avoid relegation when they go to Nuneaton who are one place below them. Vixens are currently two points ahead of their rivals but have played two games more.

It is a battle between City and Blackburn Rovers for the honours in the Premier League Reserve Division with City's 8-2 win at Middlesbrough lifting them above Newcastle United into second place.

Leaders Blackburn, who City meet in the League Cup final, are six points ahead in the title race, having played two games more, but this week they are at third-placed Newcastle while City entertain lowly Stockport County.

At Middlesbrough first half goals from Zoe Roberts 2, Aqsa Mushtaq, and Joely Ruse gave City a 4-1 lead at the interval. Roberts and Mushtaq each added two more after the break.

The City A team booked their place in the West Riding League Cup final when they came from behind against First Division promotion rivals Battyeford Belles to win 2-1 with two goals from Ikra Ali.

Ilkley Town have withdrawn from the league this week but the revised table still leaves City eight points adrift of Battyeford in the title chase as they face Republica Internationale tomorrow.

Bradford Park Avenue, who play third placed Tingley Athletic tomorrow, are still battling to avoid relegation from the Premier Division and thoroughly deserved a point from a 4-4 draw with Brighouse Athletic at Thornton Rec in their last game.

Laura Wolfenden 2, Sarah Huby and Nat Bell were on target for Avenue while Lisa Parry, Phoebe Durkin, Ash Butler and Becky Teale were the Brighouse scorers
