BAILDON Trinity Athletic's relegation woes continue as they lost 2-1 at home to East End Park in the West Yorkshire League.

The Leeds-based side thus gained revenge after their 6-2 drubbing in the reverse Division One fixture earlier in the season.

There were a couple of changes to the Baildon starting line-up, with Andrew Radosevic and Lee Mathers notable absentees, which meant Jamie Sykes slotting in at centre back, and Ash Cooper leading the line.

The game began at a hectic pace, with some firm tackles flying in, and Baildon found themselves behind after 15 minutes when an opposing winger ran to the by-line and put the ball across the face of goal, right back Lee Rands scoring an unfortunate own goal.

However, Baildon responded well to the setback and, after forcing a poor pass in midfield from the visitors, right winger Darren Rands fired the ball into the roof of the net from 30 yards.

But five minutes before the break, Trinity fell behind again when a free-kick whipped in from deep was met by the head of Baildon central midfielder Elliot Moody, whose header richocheted into the roof of the net off an opponent who knew little about it.

East End had the best chances of the second half but were foiled on a handful of occasions by some outstanding saves from Baildon goalkeeper Danny Milner.

The home side piled on the pressure in the last ten minutes but could not force themselves a much-needed equaliser.

Liam Lambert (2) and Kieran Suddards were on target for Field Reserves in their 3-1 win at Brighouse Old Boys Reserves in Alliance Division One.

Field v Hunslet Club and Wyke Wanderers v Robin Hood Athletic in the Premier Division were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Last week, however, Field beat Oxenhope Recreation to increase their grip at the top.

John Penn opened the scoring for Field from the penalty spot for handball that resulted in Oxenhope having a player sent off.

Ten minutes before half-time, Ryan Canning was red-carded for Field – yet they increased their lead with a header from Alex O'Keefe after good work by Curtis McMahon.

O'Keefe grabbed his second after a goalmouth scramble before Danny Cunningham completed the scoring for Field, for whom Penn was man of the match.
