THACKLEY lost 4-1 at Knaresborough Town in the Northern Under-19 Alliance League, with 16-year-old Cameron Smithurst scoring their consolation goal on his debut.
Dennyboys manager James Bennett said: "Three of our players went with the first team, so another three under-16s came with us.
"That made a total of six under-16s in the squad – and I'm not worried about the results because I'm very happy with the very young Thackley squad."
Meanwhile, Thackley Reserves earned a 2-2 draw at Pontefract Collieries Reserves in the Lancashire League.
Adam Simpson equalised just before the interval and then converted a penalty on the hour mark to edge Thackley ahead, only for Collieries to grab a late leveller.
