FA WOMEN'S Premier League side Bradford City can reflect on a week of mixed fortunes as they take a break from the action.

Having bowed out of the FA Women's Cup with a 2-1 defeat at home to Doncaster Rovers Belles last Sunday, they bounced back with a 4-0 County Cup semi-final win over Leeds in midweek.

City, the cup holders, are clear favourites to retain the trophy when they take on NE Regional League (South) side Farsley, 1-0 semi-final winners over Brighouse Town, at the West Riding County FA's Fleet Lane headquarters on Tuesday, March 31.

Leeds were never really in the hunt in Wednesday's semi-final as City raced into the lead after just three minutes when Molly Sharpe rounded the Leeds keeper and squared the ball for Rosie McDonnell to knock in the opener.

Subsequent goals from Chantelle O'Hara, Rachel Lee and Abi Brown saw City safely through to their second-successive County Cup final.

The reserves, now five games behind leaders Newcastle United, have yet another blank week but they will be hoping that neighbours Guiseley Vixens reserves will do them a favour when they go to Newcastle tomorrow.

In the Premier League (North) Division One, the promotion-chasing Guiseley first team beat Sheffield United Community 2-0 to go two points clear.

Former City player Becky Kendell scoring twice, and they are looking to hold on to that when they entertain Middlesbrough this week.

Brighouse Town face a crucial game in the North East Regional League this week when they attempt to follow up their 1-0 win over leaders York City, with a Rachel White goal, and take points from the home game with their closest title rivals Hull City.

Town are two points behind Hull with a game in hand while all clubs in the top four have games in hand on York.

In the West Riding League Premier Division Bradford Park Avenue are still second bottom, after a 3-3 draw with Brayton Belles, but they could yet finish mid table.

Sophie Mitchell 2, and Nat Bell were the Avenue scorers against Brayton. Keighley Oaks remain bottom despite a surprise 5-1 win over Brighouse Athletic.

This week Keighley are at home to Hemsworth and Avenue go to Ossett Town with both Hemsworth and Ossett chasing promotion to the NE Regional League.

Title-chasing Bradford City A are at Ilkley Town in Division Two hoping to maintain that title push with another good result. In their last game City beat Wetherby Athletic reserves 4-0 with goals from Vanessa Holroyd 2, Annie Nicoll and Chelsey Faulkner.
