TWO of the leading teams in the YORKSHIRE AMATEUR LEAGUE Premier Division, Ealandians and Farsley Celtic Juniors, could not be separated after a tense 2-2 draw.

The deadlock was not broken until the 70th minute, when recent signing John Mallinson converted from close range to put Farsley into the lead.

Ealandians are unbeaten this season after nine matches and equalised from the penalty spot. Second-placed Farsley Celtic - unbeaten in their last ten matches and six points behind leaders Huddersfield Amateur with two games in hand - got their noses in front again through Mallinson but a disputed 95th-minute free-kick by Ealandians ensured a share of the spoils.

Pudsey Grangefield Old Boys drew 2-2 with Trinity Old Boys, Grant Jackson and Ritchie Banks securing a point for Pudsey.

In the Championship, Calverley United played out a goalless draw at Shire Academics. This was Calverley's 13th game without a win and they remain bottom of the table.
