WYKE Wanderers are through to the semi-finals of the Heavy Woollen & District FA's Wheatley Trophy, despite not being at their fluent best.

The West Yorkshire League side defeated Wakefield & District League visitors Crackenedge 5-2, Ian Horrocks putting Wyke 2-0 in front, his first goal being well worked and neatly finished.

Crackenedge halved the deficit on half-time but suffered a body blow when a long throw-in from Ben Bodle resulted in a headed own goal.

This gave Wanderers the confidence to take charge, Horrocks completing a second successive hat-trick after a great ball from Cameron Day.

Poor defending gave Crackenedge hope with a second goal but Josh Brough's great header finished them off.

Meanwhile, Field extended their lead at the top of the Premier Division – but only thanks to Josh Milner's last-minute penalty.

That gave them a 2-1 victory at Brighouse Old Boys, who had Lee Williams sent off. Milner also scored Field's other goal.

Baildon Trinity Athletic had to work hard to secure a 4-3 victory against Kellingley Welfare in Division Two.

Although Kellingley started the better, Athletic scored first via Andrew Radosevic after good build up from midfielders Tom Craven and Danny Milner.

John O'Connell's fine finish soon made it 2-0 but hard-working Welfare replied before half-time, only for Louis Francis' calm chip and Radosevic's second to extend the lead to 4-1.

Welfare then netted twice to make it a nervy last five minutes for Trinity, whose win put them second.

Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves lost by the same score at Kippax in Alliance Division Two as they paid for missing first-half chances.

Charles Dalton, Jonathan Reynolds and left back Ian Bolton scored equalisers for Baildon but sloppy defending allowed Kippax to get the winner with the last kick of the match.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves stayed fourth after a 3-2 victory at Hall Green United Reserves, who took the lead with a 15th-minute penalty.

Joe Sagar equalised and Gary Lupton netted from the spot after the ever-dangerous Hoi Pin Truong was brought down.

Truong got on the scoresheet in the second half after an excellent through ball from Paulo Lewandowski.

Hall Green were rewarded for their second-half pressure with a goal but debutant Carlton Reid marshalled the visitors' defence well as they held on to triumph.

Field Reserves reached the third round of the League Trophy after a 10-0 thrashing of visitors Rothwell Town Reserves.

On target for Field were Matthew Hartley (3), Liam Lambert (2), Robert Gumbley, Calum Robinson, Calvin Rowe, Kieran Suddards and Steve Hamilton.
