BAILDON Trinity Athletic remain third in WEST YORKSHIRE LEAGUE Division Two following a hard-fought 3-2 win against Normanton Woodhouse Hill.

Despite the Jenny Lane pitch being in poor condition, Baildon started brightly, Danny Milner thundering home a header and John O'Connell making it 2-0.

A brilliant save by John Lamb kept Normanton out in the first half but they scored after 55 minutes.

However, Ben McKenzie made it 3-1 by lobbing the goalkeeper from outside the area but Lamb then saved a penalty and the rebound before Woodhouse scored again, man of the match Lamb again defying them.

Wyke Wanderers shook off their ring-rust with a 6-1 victory over Howden Clough in Division One.

Not having played for over a month, Wanderers were slow out of the blocks but tensions were eased after goals by James Stansfield and Joe Walshe.

Stansfield's far-post header made it 3-0 in the second half and, although Clough pulled one back, substitute Josh Brough bagged a brace and star midfielder Aiden Day got the sixth.

Wyke Wanderers Reserves beat Sherburn White Rose Reserves 3-0 in Alliance Division Two, with Michael Stowell, Gary Lupton, who scored from a rebound after his penalty was saved, and debutant Mick Naylor on target.

Field suffered only their third defeat of the Premier Division campaign when they lost 4-1 at Robin Hood Athletic, with Graham Marchant grabbing all four goals for the winners.

Dan Illingworth scored for Field to make it 2-1 at half-time but the hosts added two breakaway goals in the second half.

Field secretary Barry Dunne said: "Robin Hood played well but we were second best and never got started."

Oxenhope Recreation visit Field on Wednesday in the West Yorkshire League Cup (7.30pm).

Matthew Hartley and Joseph Vickers were on target for Field Reserves in their 2-2 draw at home to Headingley AFC Reserves in Alliance Division One, while the Division Two clash between Garforth Rangers Reserves and Baildon Trinity Athletic Reserves was postponed.
