GUILHERME Reis' brace proved in vain for Eccleshill United Reserves against Lancashire League leaders AFC Emley Reserves.

He scored in the 67th and 76th minutes as they recovered from 2-0 down, only to concede a late winner.

There was better news when Eccleshill took on Thackley Reserves as the Eagles won 4-1, with Kane Alexander netting for Thackley in the 89th minute. Eccleshill's goalscorers came courtesy of an own goal, Joseph D'Antoni (2) and Dylan Gillespie.

Albion Sports Reserves had Marcus Harper on target but they suffered a 7-1 defeat at home to Ashton United Reserves.

In the Halifax & District FA Cup, Brighouse Town Reserves won 2-1 win against Brighouse Old Boys, David Melling opening the scoring for Town with a well-taken free-kick that went in off a post.

The Old Boys levelled on the stroke of half-time but manager's son Will Tolley restored Town's lead to put them into the quarter-finals.
