YORKSHIRE Amateur League Division Three side Heckmondwike GSOB claimed a second noteworthy scalp in the MARFLITT TROPHY.

After beating Division two leaders Wheelwright OB in round one, they deservedly saw off Amaranth Crossgates 5-3.

Dale Hanson (2), Patrick Davis, William Crabtree and Scott Molloy were the Heckmondwike sharpshooters.

Their 'reward' is a home game against Premier Division leaders Huddersfield Amateur in the next round.

John Mallinson hit a hat-trick as Stanningley OB beat Wigton Moor 5-3. Jimmy Halliday, with an overhead kick, and Jamie McGeorge also scored and next up is a second-round tie at Sandal Wanderers.

Farsley Celtic Juniors will be the first to admit that their 4-2 win over Thornesians was not exactly polished. Goals in the 41st minute and 44th minutes by Luke Kitson and Liam Cannan gave Farsley a 2-1 half time advantage. Ben Cook and Tom Ormanroyd clinched the tie after the break.

In round one of the HANCOCK CUP, Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves, of Division Two, beat Division Six side Amaranth Crossgates Res 2-1 with goals from James Lowry and Louis Edmonds.

St Bedes lost a high-scoring encounter with Morley Town Reserves 7-5. In a cracker of a game, St Bedes were 5-3 ahead before running out of steam. Scorers for a youthful Bedes side were Brian Hands 2, Dominic O’Sullivan and 16-year-old Jordan Farrell (2).

In the CHAMPIONSHIP, Stanningley OB Res edged a nine-goal thriller against Rodillian 5-4.

The victory takes them to the top of the table, with Rodillian dropping one place to third. Liam Mallinson (3) and Jack Kitson (2) were the Stanningley goalscorers.

St Bedes won 2-1 at Old Centralians in Division One, their first victory of the campaign. Old Centralians led through Gethin Clark but by the interval Collis Robinson and Liam Darke had given Bedes what proved to be an unassailable 2-1 advantage.
