IT IS FA Cup day in the world of Women's Football tomorrow and West Riding County League side Bradford Park Avenue find themselves looking for a giant-killing at North East Regional League side Hull City in a first qualifying-round tie.

Avenue had a superb pre-season and they won their opening West Riding County League game at Keighley Oaks but they were forced to sit it out last week when their scheduled game at home to Hemsworth was postponed.

Tomorrow's game is a new challenge and, although no one from this round is likely to reach the latter stages of the competition, a win at Hull would be a great boost to Avenue's hopes of progressing to a higher league.

Also involved in qualifying round games are Farsley, at Huimberside Malet Lambert, Brighouse Athletic at home to Brighouse Town and Ossett Albion at home to Wetherby Athletic.

In the FA Women's Premier League North, Bradford City are at home to Birmingham side Sporting Albion hoping to build on last week's 5-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

It has been a hesitant start for City in this newly reconstituted league but a hat-trick from Molly Sharpe and two from Rachel Lee saw them safely home as they climbed to sixth place, still seven points behind leaders, and local rivals, Huddersfield Town.

Town beat City 3-2, at Thackley, earlier this month but they have a chance to end Town's run when the two sides meet again at Shelley next Wednesday.

In the First Division, Guiseley AFC Vixens were 2-1 winners at Stockport County in their last outing and coach Julie Grundy will be hoping for more of the same from her girls when they take on Morecambe at Nethermoor.

Bradford City's tremendous start at reserve-team level saw them follow up a 17-1 Premier League Cup win over Leicester City with a 10-2 thrashing of Huddersfield Town reserves last week, with goals from Vicky Rich (3), Choe Pennisi (2), Sarah Dobby, Zoe Roberts, Abigail Barker, Rosie McDonnell and an own goal.

No luck for the City A team however as they went down 3-2 to Brighouse Athletic in the West Riding League Cup, despite Vanessa Holroyd opening the scoring against her old team.
