West Bowling made it a memorable debut in the FA Sunday Cup with a 2-1 win at Wharfedale champions Malt Shovel.

Bowling enjoyed a dream start when Kevin Boshell fired home from the penalty spot after Marc Price had been pulled down by the home keeper.

Both teams had chances, with only the woodwork preventing Bowling from adding to their lead. But Tom Hickman drew Shovel level ten minutes before the break.

The visitors clinched it five minutes from time when Mark Shute notched his first goal for the Bradford team.

Division One Cuedos Rangers came within penalty kicks of pulling off a shock at Premier outfit Westwood Park in the Bradford & District FA Sunday Senior Cup.

Lee Smith and Tom Lambert gave the hosts a two-goal lead at half-time before a spirited fightback saw Rangers level at 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Extra-time could not produce a winner so it went to spot-kicks, with Westwood keeper Tom Metcalfe emerging the hero with two saves.

White Eagles were another underdog to test higher opposition before going down 1-0 to Ventus Sports. Andy Patterson notched the only goal but again the best display came from keeper Aaron Bryant to hold Eagles at bay. Mill Lane hit double figures at Woodman Rovers, with Stephen Hollingworth grabbing four goals and Ryan Metcalfe and Levan Moses both bagging two each.

Liam Gallagher’s late winner proved decisive for top-flight Dudley Hill Rangers in a 2-1 win over St George. Paul Licence’s penalty had given them a 70th-minute lead before Jamie Sugden quickly replied.

Chris Hellawell hit a double for Bradford Phoenix against Premier giants Buttershaw White Star but it was to no avail when the former champions hit five of their own. Their haul included two each for Jordan Missin and Graham Sides.

Jack Barker bagged two goals for Thornbury Quarry Gap against Thornton United after the visitors lost their keeper just six minutes in. But the hosts ran out 5-3 winners, with Sean Clifford hitting two.

Damian Rushworth put Victoria Rangers in front against Allerton but three goals from the visitors saw them through to the next round.

Charlie Flaherty hit the only goal of the match for Bolton Woods Social against FC George.

In the Bradford & District Sunday Cup, AFC Titans netted five times in the second half to see off New Tyke Rangers 6-2.

The Division 3A side had opened the scoring after five minutes but quickly gifted Rangers an equaliser.

The contest was settled in a one-sided second period.

Tyrone Terrelonge and Sohail Ahmed both claimed doubles for the home side, who stretched their unbeaten start to the season to eight matches.

Ravenscliffe reserves edged a seven-goal thriller against Lidget Green, while Bryan Carr hit a hat-trick for Robin Hood at Eccleshill Sunday.
