WEEKEND storms and gales left plenty of pitches in awful condition and for the first time this season there were Bradford Sunday Alliance League postponements due to waterlogged surfaces.

One of the first casualties was the Premier Division fixture between Buttershaw Celtic and defending champions West Bowling.

Also a victim was Oakenshaw's tie in the District Cup and the only top-flight game that did beat the weather was the one between Bradford Moor and Thornbury Celtic.

Celtic climbed to second with a 6-4 victory as Kevin Towley's hat-trick for bottom side Moor proved in vain, with Danial Yasin replying in kind for the visitors.

There was a surprise in Division One as rock-bottom Wyke Rangers won 4-1 at mid-table Aire Athletic.

In Division 1A, Heaton Athletic were three up at the interval but Woodman Wanderers fought back in the second half and reduced the final deficit to 3-1 with a goal by Daniel Doyle.

Toller are up to fourth in Division 1B after hammering basement side Westleigh 9-4, with Adeeb Jawad hitting four of the goals.

Bankfoot Lions made it 14 goals in their last two Division 2A matches with a 6-2 victory at Titans Reserves, including an Adam Finney brace.

Leaders Eastward thumped Throstle Nest 8-2 in the section's other match to escape the weather.

Fairweather Green are top of Division 2B after an emphatic 8-3 victory at Mill Lane Reserves. Sam Prest (3) and Karl Ratcliffe (2) led the goal rush as Davey Pratt doubled up in reply.

Bottom side Victoria Lions claimed only their second win by seeing off George United 4-2 as Ryan Murgatroyd's brace was overturned by Nick Walker (2), Daniel Paterson and Tenahson Stewart.
