AFTER the final Bradford Sunday Alliance League early-season midweek matches were played on Thursday, Division 1A is led by Station Hotel and Clayton Village Sports & Social, who both have nine points.

Division 2A have three teams on nine points – Mill Lane, Tyersal and Salthorn Victoria – while in Division 2B, Eccleshill Sunday Reserves and Gaping Goose head the field on maximum points.

Clubs take a break from league action tomorrow as the three internal cups take centre stage, with last season's GOALS Soccer Senior Cup finalists Thornton United having George Hotel as visitors.

Premier Division Ventus United visit Division One high-fliers Swaine Green at Upper Seymour Street, while holders West Bowling have Premier Division opposition in Buttershaw Celtic at Emsley's Rec.

Hosts Grass Greener United face fellow Division One team Thornton United Reserves at Windhill, while Division One leaders Lyceum are at Premier Division leaders Oakenshaw, who are also unbeaten, at Harold Park.

Two years of preparatory work by the Bradford Sunday Alliance League's committee culminated with them receiving the FA's Charter Standard award at their league meeting on Tuesday night.

Hannah Simpson, chef executive of the West Riding County FA, presented the certificate to league president Adrian Grimshaw and secretary Pat Goodall.

The Alliance League are one of the few Sunday leagues in the country to have received the award.
