NEXT Sunday's Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division clash between George Hotel and Bradford Moor has added significance.

They are among four clubs in a dogfight to avoid relegation, the other two being Ventus United and Bolton Woods.

United are at the bottom with four points, with George Hotel and Bolton Woods on seven points and Bradford Moor on eight but United have only played nine games compared to Moor's ten, Woods' 11 and Hotel's 12.

There is a familiar look at the top of the division, with defending champions Thornton United in pole position at halfway with 23 points from ten matches.

United were dumped out of the Bradford & District FA Sunday Senior Cup by First Division Grass greener United but Thornton have a second chance because their reserve team are through to the semi-finals, while the first team are still in the West Riding County FA Sunday Cup.

West Bowling are second in the Premier Division with 19 points, but have only played seven league matches, as have third-placed White Eagles, who have 18 points, with both clubs' league schedule being disrupted by their county cup success.

Oakenshaw, who have 18 points from ten matches and cannot be discounted from the mix at the top either, are still involved in the Bradford & District FA Sunday Senior Cup and have West Bowling as visitors to Harold Park in what must be the tie of the round.

In the First Division, two clubs are still unbeaten – Undercliffe Cricket Club and Olympic, who caused a major upset in the County Cup when they beat Leeds Premier Division's HT Sports, holders for the past two seasons.

Allerton and Bradford Phoenix are also in the shake-up at the top, while Thornton United Reserves top Division 1A, with Bradford Vale close behind.

In Division 1B, three teams remain unbeaten, with Grass Greener United going the first half of the season without tasting defeat until they were beaten on a penalty shoot-out in the last 16 of the West Riding County FA Trophy, but nevertheless manager Paul Jarvis seems to have them firing on all cylinders for the vast majority of the time.

Leaders Station United have reached the halfway stage of the Division 2B season with a 100 per cent league record and a goal difference of plus 22, while the new clubs in Division 3A have now found their feet, with Parry Lane and East Bierley Village heading the table with Thornton United's third team waiting to see if either of them slip up in the second half of the season.
