GRASS Greener United discovered that the grass really is greener at home when their delayed West Riding County FA Sunday Trophy tie was switched from Clifton Rangers Reserves.

The Bradford club won the second-round tie 6-4, with Rob Coulter (3) and James Smail (2) leading the way.

There were also internal knockout ties in the Bradford Sunday Alliance League and West Bowling booked their place in the semi-finals of the GOALS Senior Cup in emphatic style.

They crushed fellow Premier Division side Peel Park 10-1, with Chris Wood putting the victors ahead in the eighth minute and Andy Kenyon doubling the advantage two minutes later after an Andrew Gallagher pass.

Route one football made it 3-0 thanks to a thumping Damian Melvin shot, before Kenyon turned provider for Gallagher.

Leading scorer Joe Jagger (two, including a penalty) and Wood made it 7-0 by half-time – and man of the match Wood completed his hat-trick seven minutes after the break.

Substitute Paul Jackson and Nick Doherty completed the rout either side of Matthew Dempsey's header for Peel Park.

Allerton are pushing for promotion from Division One and ran top-flight hosts Buttershaw Celtic close before losing 2-1.

The underdogs led via a penalty but Liam Keeley equalised with a 25-yard curler and man of the match and skipper Jordan Northin headed the winner with five minutes left.

In the GOALS Amateur Cup, Rose & Crown turned a 2-1 interval deficit into a 5-3 victory at Fairweather Green WMC Reserves

Liam Parsons (Rose & Crown) and Fabian Crawford (Fairweather Green) were among the first-half scorers, Danny Jennings making it 2-2 with a superb volley in the second half.

Fairweather Green missed a penalty, which would have made it 4-4 with five minutes left, and there was no way back when Nicky Ellerton got his second of the half, his earlier effort coming from the spot.

A big crowd watched the eagerly-awaited all-Division 2A derby tie between Station Hotel and YMCC at Avenue Road, with Ben Bateman making it 1-1 for Station after Ben Johnson had just scored.

But Jamie Templeton strikes either side of the interval put YMCC in charge and they added further goals by Conor Banks ,Travis Cheetham and Arran Gibson to complete a 6-1 win.

In the Premier Division, defending champions Thornton United took advantage of their rivals' cup exploits and moved to the top with a 4-2 victory over Thornbury Celtic.

AFC Titans failed to capitalise on a first-half treble by top scorer Mick Dougan in Division 2A as visitors Clayton Village Sports & Social Club recovered from a 3-1 interval deficit to draw 3-3.

Man of the match Mark Lajca missed a last-minute sitter which would have won it for Titans.
