THE Bradford & District FA Sunday Cup final at Fields was not short of incident – with two goals in the first two minutes, seven in all and two dismissals by referee Akeel Ahmed.

Queensbury went ahead with their first attack via Stephen Mason but fellow Bradford Sunday Alliance League Division 2B side Lyceum equalised straight from the restart through Aaron Heywood on what was an evening of mixed fortunes.

On 16 minutes, Ross Mason put Queensbury back in front and 15 minutes later Ben Pritchard made it 3-1 for the men who were wearing blue to avoid a colour clash.

However, although Ryan Dennis pulled Lyceum back into the game six minutes before the interval, Stephen Mason grabbed his second goal ten minutes after half-time to make it 4-2.

Five minutes later, things got worse for Lyceum when Heywood was dismissed for a bad challenge – and in the 70th minute, they were down to nine men when Sean Jackson also received his marching orders.

This actually seemed to spur Lyceum on and they began to dominate, pulling a goal back through Glynn Beale.

But they could not manage to save the match as Queensbury eventually made the numerical advantage tell to deservedly win the minor of the district's two Sunday cups.
