TWO Bradford Sunday Alliance clubs start the long road towards what they hope will be FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup glory this weekend.

Bolton Woods have a home tie at Thackley on Sunday, where they entertain King George from Wakefield. The visitors are entering the competition for the first time but a lot of their players used to play for Wakefield Redoubt, who enjoyed West Riding County Cup success and beat Buttershaw White Star two seasons ago.

Thornton United have Merseyside visitors to Manningham Mills when they entertain Dengo United from Croxteth in Liverpool.

After a two-year break, this will be the Liverpool and District Sunday League Premier Division side's sixth year of competing in the Carlsberg Sunday Cup, in which reaching the third round has been their best achievement.

West Bowling have a bye through to the second round.

There are also Bradford and District Sunday cup fixtures, which include Division One Red Lion's third-round trip to holders West Bowling.
