Defending Bradford Sunday Alliance League champions West Bowling will be kicking themselves after a weekend slip-up.

Bowling had a golden chance to move top of the Premier Division table with title rivals Sandy Lane and Buttershaw White Star in cup action.

They would have been confident of beating bottom side George Hotel but had to settle for a point from a 4-4 draw.

Bowling were never in front and the top-flight newcomers fully deserved their reward.

Hosts George Hotel looked set for an even bigger upset when they led 3-1 at the interval but Chris Wood grabbed a late equaliser.

This followed earlier Bowling goals from Joe Jagger, whose double included a penalty, and Jack Murphy.

The day’s other top-flight match also finished all square as mid-table duo Relay and Wyke Wanderers, who had Josh Hans and James Cook on target, drew 2-2.

A Division One thriller saw Allerton just get the better of visiting Lane Ends 3-2.

It needed a great comeback after Lane Ends had gone two goals ahead as a Karl McDonald penalty halved the lead and Danny Peddar equalised before Ben O’Melia supplied the winner.

Dave Geddis scored at the double for Victoria Rangers and they went on to win 4-3 at home to Manningham as Michael Brame grabbed a late winner.

Division 1A leaders Wyke Rangers hit eight without reply against fellow high-fliers Undercliffe as Liam Hainsworth and Brandan Folan both netted twice.

The basement Division 1B battle of the two Wrose clubs finished level at 5-5 between Albion and Bull.

Turf could afford to miss a penalty as they won by the odd goal in three at home to Olympic in Division 2A. Goals by Andy Thorpe and Jordan Sargent proved decisive.

Division 2B bottom two Second West and Titans drew 3-3, with David Wood unlucky after hitting a hat-trick for the hosts.
