Thackley will have the opportunity to gain immediate revenge on former manager Billy Fox’s side on Saturday when they head to Staveley MW.

Fox and his men enjoyed a 2-1 win at Dennyfield last weekend but the Bradford outfit are aiming to stay above their hosts in the Baris Northern Counties East League Premier Division by winning the reverse fixture.

The clubs could not be closer as the league stands. Thackley are fifth, with Staveley a place behind. Both have 34 points and the same goal difference, with the Dennyboys in front by virtue of goals scored. However, Staveley have two games in hand.

The halfway point in the campaign sees all of last weekend’s fixtures reversed.

That means Liversedge have another tough task as they must travel to Retford United, who went top of the table courtesy of a 4-0 victory at Clayborn last Saturday. Sedge were down to ten men, following the dismissal of Chris Hannay, when the score was 2-0.

Brighouse Town should have travelled to Lincoln Moorlands Railway last week but the match was postponed because of the severe wet weather.

This time Town have home advantage as they look for the points to keep them in the top half.

A very tasty fixture is in prospect in Division One as Eccleshill United entertain Glasshoughton Welfare.

The Eagles are fifth and just three points off the summit – which sees the top three locked on 42 points – after an incredible run, while Glasshoughton are fourth, just one point behind the leading trio.

The stakes are huge, especially as Welfare have a game in hand on Ian Banks’ men.

Albion Sports are one of the three joint leaders but they have a game in hand on their two main title rivals Worksop Parramore and Pontefract.

Albion, who bowed out of the West Riding Cup in midweek, need to make the most of their trip to second-bottom Askern Villa tomorrow. They were denied a home game last weekend because of the weather.
