ALBION Sports are up against the odds tomorrow when they travel to Tadcaster Albion, who have an excellent home record and are looking to reclaim the leadership of the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Taddy are just one point behind new leaders Worksop Town and will be smarting after losing last time out.

Kulwinder Sandhu’s Sports have banked four points from their last two league games but will also be hurting after being crushed 7-0 by Bradford Park Avenue in the County Cup on Wednesday.

Worksop overhauled Taddy at the summit thanks to a 6-0 win at home to Liversedge on the same night – a result which leaves Sedge’s confidence at a low ebb.

They have home advantage tomorrow but face yet another tough test. Barton Town visit Clayborn and are fifth, just seven points off the summit. They will be looking for a win to keep them within striking distance of Worksop and Tadcaster.

Thackley have climbed up to 15th in the top tier following back-to-back wins, and it could yet be three straight victories depending on the outcome of their midweek game.

The Dennyboys were 4-0 up Garforth Town on Tuesday, after a second-half hat-trick by Tom Dugdale and an early strike by Andy Wood, when the referee abandoned the game in the 75th minute due to fog.

There is a good chance that they could add more points to their total as they head to Parkgate tomorrow.

The hosts are two places below the Dennyboys and two points worse off, despite having played a game more.

Things are looking up for Eccleshill United in Division One, and they will hope to keep the feel-good factor going when they host Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.

The Eagles have taken four points from their last two league fixtures to bounce back from consecutive defeats.

Tomorrow’s visitors have banked just one point from the last 18 and are five places below Mark Greaves’ side.

Adam Turner and Brett Catley were on target in Eccleshill’s 2-0 victory last weekend, and Liam Charles scored in the 1-1 draw that preceded that, proving that they can get results even if goal machine Luke Harrop doesn’t contribute.
