Ross McCormack’s free-scoring start to the season for Leeds United has seen him nominated for the npower Championship player of the month for September.
The striker has bagged eight goals in nine league appearances for the Whites and is currently joint top-scorer with Southampton’s Rickie Lambert.
McCormack is nominated for the award – set to be announced today – alongside Matthew Bates, from Middles-brough, Lambert, and Derby County’s Jason Shackell.
Meanwhile, Leeds boss Simon Grayson is glad to have this weekend off due to the international break.
He said: “We have a big run of fixtures in the next month or so with Saturdays, Tues-days and Wednesdays, so it won’t do us any harm to give us a breather and take stock of the situation.”
Leeds’ next match is at Doncaster a week today.
