FARSLEY Celtic turned in a five star display – and had manager Neil Parsley purring about the quality of the goals his side plundered in their derby at Ossett Town.

The Celts were two places above their near neighbours and long term rivals in the Evo-Stik Division One North table but, with Ossett having home advantage and trailing by just three points, a lot was riding on it.

Farsley continued their excellent recent form and ran out comfortable winners, although it took them a while to break the deadlock. They opened the scoring when defender Paddy Miller converted a set-piece minutes before the interval.

They made sure of the win with a three goal salvo in an eight minute spell either side of the hour mark. Lewis Nightingale doubled the Celts’ lead before Paul Walker added a third and then Nightingale completed his brace.

The home side hit back through David Brown in the 70th minute but Farsley midfielder Ross Daly put the gloss on their win with a fifth before Josh Moore netted a last minute consolation for Ossett.

Parsley said, “It was a good win and a good performance as we played really well and, as the scoreline suggests, we dominated.

“I thought they (Ossett) were fortunate to be only one down at half time because we had a great chance and a very strong penalty appeal turned down. But we scored some great goals, they were all good.

“I thought Lewis’ first and Ross’ were the pick of the bunch but Wakka’s and Paddy’s were both good. Paddy got on the end of a great in-swinging corner from Lewis Sugden.

“That’s six wins on the trot in all competitions and we’re playing some good stuff lately. It’s good to go into Christmas on this form and with that run of results because there is a tough period waiting for us.”
