FARSLEY Celtic’s confidence will be high after two excellent victories on the spin but their mini revival will be severely tested at promotion-chasing Clitheroe tomorrow in an Evo-Stik Division One North Roses clash.

Celts boss Neil Parsley has made signings to reverse his club’s fortunes but a new recruit in the dugout could be the most significant arrival.

Former Bradford Park Avenue player Lee Connor has been brought in as his new assistant following Mark Jackson's decision to take up a full-time role with Leeds United’s Academy.

Connor is a Celt through and through and had two spells as a first-team player at Throstle Nest after coming through their youth system.

Parsley said: “I’m delighted that Lee has decided to join us. I spoke to him soon after Jacko made his decision known.

"Lee obviously knows all about the history of this club and he is keen to come on board and help us recover from a bad start.

“We go to Clitheroe after they trounced Droylsden 6-1, so what was always going to be a difficult game got even harder.

"But we’ve been in good form and, although we haven’t won away from home yet this season, it is not beyond this group of players.”

Brighouse Town will also have one eye on Farsley’s game as they have Clitheroe in their sights.

Town are seventh after three consecutive draws stalled their progress and left them four points outside the play-off zone, but they have games in hand on some of their promotion rivals.

However, they could not face a sterner test as they head to leaders Northwich Victoria.

The Vics are top the table on goal difference and have three games in hand.
