FARSLEY rekindled their promotion hopes in midweek, and they will be hoping that Tuesday’s excellent win is the beginning of a good run-in as they seek to get back into the play-off places in the Evo-Stik First Division North.

Neil Parsley’s men moved back up to eighth ahead of Saturday’s short trip to struggling Ossett Town. The hosts are a lowly 17th, which leaves them immediately below Brighouse Town.

A win at Ossett would not be enough for Parsley’s men to break back into the top five this weekend but it would keep Farsley’s momentum going.

They let a two-goal lead slip in midweek before battling back to earn a 3-2 home victory over second-placed Darlington 1883, who were looking for the win that would have seen them displace leaders Salford City.

Brighouse have home advantage this weekend, with Burscough, the club immediately above them in the table, travelling to the Dual Seal Stadium.

Town will go above their visitors if they can register their eighth home win of the season.

Brighouse boss Paul Quinn will be wary, though, as more than half of Burscough’s nine league wins in this campaign have come on the road.
