NEW Eccleshill United head coach Gerard Jones will make a belated bow this weekend when his side host Toolstation Northern Counties East League newcomers Penistone Church in Division One.
Jones was appointed a fortnight ago but the Eagles were denied a trip to AFC Mansfield last Saturday because their hosts were involved in an FA Vase tie.
The new boss was happy to wait and said: "I never get disappointed, so it didn't matter to me.
"In fact, it gave the lads the opportunity for a rest and gave me the time to develop a bond with the players and build up a rapport.
"I'm not entirely new to the lads as I have taken the RIASA boys for training on many occasions. I've been involved with the club for two years, running the under-18s and reserves and training the first team.
"I have short-term aims and mid-term and long-term plans and I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity."
In the Premier Division, Liversedge and Thackley both have must-win games against teams around them in the lower reaches of the table. Sedge host Armthorpe Welfare, while Thackley travel to Nostell MW.
Tenth-placed Albion Sports host, Garforth Town the club immediately below them.
