Yorkshire have struggled on the first morning of their LV= County Championship clash with Kent at Canterbury.
By lunch on a cold and windy day they had reached 52 for two at the St Lawrence Ground.
Joe Sayers was the first to go for 12, when he was clean bowled by Matt Coles, before fellow opener Joe Root was trapped lbw for 21 by Darren Stevens.
At the interval, Phil Jaques had reached ten not out, with captain Andrew Gale unbeaten on nine.
Yorkshire have made one change to their team from the side which drew with Essex last week, with Tim Bresnan replacing Anthony McGrath in the starting 11.
