Yorkshire have failed to take a wicket during the fourth morning session of their LV= County Championship match against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl.

The match is meandering towards a draw as the hosts close in on the White Rose’s first-innings score of 532.

Michael Carberry and Neil McKenzie have amassed an unbroken and record third-wicket partnership of 363 from 99.5 overs to take their side to 422-2 from 115 overs at lunch, still trailing by 110.

This is the highest partnership for Hampshire’s third wicket, beating the previous record of 344 between Philip Mead and George Brown against Yorkshire at Portsmouth in 1927.

Hampshire clinched the maximum of five batting bonus points but Yorkshire failed to claim one bowling point.

If Hampshire opt not to declare at lunch, Carberry will resume on 197 and McKenzie on 167.

Only Andrew Gale, Gary Ballance and wicketkeeper Gerard Brophy have not bowled for Yorkshire in this innings.
