Deadly duo Mahir Ali and Nasser Jamal ripped apart the Burley batting to end the defending Aire-Wharfe League champions’ hopes of a late surge to the top while extending Thackley’s lead to ten points with six games to go.

Ali (5-35) and Jamal (5-31) skittled out Burley for 72 - their lowest score since August 2008 and a total Thackley passed with nine wickets in hand.

Meanwhile Otley, having climbed to second in the table, crashed to a 115-run defeat at the hands of third-from-bottom Collingham.

That allowed Kirkstall, winners over Beckwithshaw, and Bilton, who overcame Follifoot, to climb above them as the main threat to Thackley.

Guiseley’s win over Green Lane took their points tally to 22 from the last 24, a sequence that has seen them leap from 11th in the table to fifth.

Yasser Ali (91) top scored in Lane’s 209-8 in which Abid Awan picked up four wickets, but Charlie Best (83no) saw Guiseley to a four-wicket victory.

And there was a rare triumph for bottom club Rawdon, inspired by captain and most consistent performer Andrew Doidge, who picked up three wickets as he and Jeremy Batty (4-75) restricted Adel to 207-8.

Doidge (94) then combined with Mark Stringer (42) in a fifth-wicket century stand as Rawdon clinched their second win of the campaign.

There appears to be no stopping Steeton’s march to promotion from Division Two as they stretched their unbeaten run with victory at North Leeds.

Andy Luxton picked up 6-40 as the home side were bowled out for 138, a total Steeton passed with nine wickets in hand thanks to Shane McNamara (68no) and David Robinson (42).

Ben Rhydding’s challenge looked to be faltering when they were dismissed for 112 but Jason Wright (6-27) and Alex Miller (3-33) came to the rescue, bowling out Upper Wharfedale for 99.

With Calverley taking a point off second-placed Knaresborough – Tom Westerman picking up 6-54 – Ben Rhydding climbed above their rivals courtesy of the number of games won.

John Storey scored 114 as struggling Menston made 221 against Bolton Villas with Umer Yaqoob taking 6-43, and when the visitors could only manage 166-6 in reply, Menston picked up four valuable points in their bid to escape the drop.

Harden, meanwhile, went down to their eighth defeat in the last ten starts, despite the efforts of Jordan Mackenzie (65), Tom Stordy (55no) and Andrew Wear (53) against Pool, and they are now only one point above Wharfedale and Calverley and just five points better than Menston.

With runaway Division Three leaders Bardsey beating second-placed Illingworth, Ilkley had the chance to move into the promotion places, and Paul Dover (69) and Nick Cockcroft (61) gave them a good start, helping them to 262-8 at Skipton.

But a fine 89 from Steve Carling and determined, unbeaten knocks of 31 from Ben Holderness and Gary Owen saw the home side hold out for two points, and with Colton beating New Rover, Ilkley had to settle for third spot.

Waqas Ahmed (56), Zarshad Khan (4-27) and Phil Binner (4-30) were the stars as Silsden took their tally to 34 from the last 36 points played for with a win over Alwoodley.

Matthew Bates picked up six wickets against promotion-chasing Woodhouse, and Kris Lewis (42) and Chris Bings (35no) helped Horsforth play out a draw.

Peter Kempton (59) top-scored in Hall Park’s 163 but Addingham eased to a nine-wicket win with Andy Murray hitting 66no and Ricky Palacio following up his 4-17 with a half-century.
