Group A provided a feast of runs in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League yesterday.

Shoukat Ali, of Heaton A, scored an unbeaten 207 in an innings of 353-4 which included two century partnership. In reply, Yorkshire LPS made 134 all out.

Top scorers of the day were Omars, however, with 361-7, Shimile Khan scoring 153 and Usad Abbas 88 against Allerton, but it was nearly not enough as Allerton made 319 all out, with Mohammed Arif top-scoring on 72, Chetan Patel taking 4-69 for Omars.

This win for Omars should have allowed Cambing to increase their lead at the top of the table, but they too lost, and Allerton gained more bonus points to close the gap to just eight points.

Hallfield were the undoing of Cambing, scoring 132 in which Shakeel Ahmed claimed 4-22, but 6-50 Nayyar Iftikhar, including a hat-trick, helped dismiss Cambing for 93.

Another high-scoring match was at Girlington, where visitors BPR set a formidable score of 280-9, with Janghir Bostan scoring 60 and Masroor Ahmed 59.

In reply, a century from Zaheed Khalid to add to his four wickets, helped Girlington close on 234 all out.

Meanwhile, Bradford Gymkhana closed the gap to the top two a little by defeating Heaton B by 68 runs.

Gymkhana made 175-8 as Shehzad Khalid claimed 5-26 for Heaton B, who were all out for 127.

In Group B, the top two both won and increased their lead over third-placed Bradford Gymkhana, who lost to second-placed Great Horton Church by six wickets.

Gymkhana made 230 all out but an opening stand of 147 between Habir Ur Rehman (83) and Imran Khan (46) saw Church home easily, Salem Athletic cut it fine against Odsal as there were only three balls to go when the last Odsal wicket fell.

Salem made 241-8, with Raheem Soomro hitting 60 and Arawazish Muddassir 68. In reply, Odsal were all out for 114.

Muff Field moved up to joint third with a 75-run win over bottom club Great Horton Meths, Frank Powell taking 5-40 as Meths were all out for 91 in reply to Muff Field’s 166.

Mandhata lost to Mayfield by just two wickets. Pritesh Lad scored 90 of his side's 153 all out as Ali Asghar claimed 5-34, Naz Khan making 63 for Mayfield.

In Group C, it is as you were as the top four all won.

Salem Athletic had a two-wicket win over Allerton, thanks to 41 from Yassir Shazad , Second-placed Girlington defeated Cross Roads & Daisy Hill by four wickets.

Daisy scored 166, with Brian Greenwood making 58 and Graeme Crabtree 40, Basharat Hussain claiming 6-40.

Third-placed Great Horton Church defeated West Bowling by 45 runs after Abrar Hussain scored 49 not out in their 156-9, Mohammed Rafiq claiming 5-32. West Bowling replied with 110 all out.

Cambing looked like making a good score against Bowling Baptist until Akhtar Hussain took 6-52 to stop tham at 172 all out. Top scorer was Hamad Sabir with 51 not out, but 83 from Mohammed Ibrar helped Bowling pass the score with four wickets down.

In Group D, the top three won again.

BPR scored 196 against Yorkshire LPS, with Mazhar Iqbal scoring 82, Viral Patel claiming six wickets for LPS, but in reply Tahir Abbas took 5-23 to dismiss LPS for 41, Bradford Indians defeated Cross Roads & Daisy Hill by five wickets, despite 4-25 from Josh Butterfield.

At Mayfield, it was the Gary Smith show.

Firstly he took 4-15 as YMCA closed on 103-8. Then he scored 41, along with Steve Kitson, who scored 41 not out as the total was passed with five wickets down, all being taken by Ian Davies, who finished with 5-51.

Buttershaw St Paul's moved up to fourth after defeating Muff Field.

Dave O’Connell scored 68 in Buttershaw’s 218-8, and then Oscar Townsend claimed 4-0 as Muff Field were all out for 65.
