Haworth moved joint top of DIVISION ONE after a stunning Craven League performance saw them crush Oakworth by ten wickets at West Lane.

The Cure Hill side were brushed aside for just 66, with Reece White taking 3-2 off three overs, Richard Ellis 3-30, Damian Rowell 2-3 and Stephen Bell 2-29.

Drew Duffy top-scored with only 16 for the visitors before the reply was dominated by Jamie Rowell, who took advantage of being missed behind to score 50 not out as victory was achieved in 17.2 overs.

Haworth share top spot with Haworth Road, who dismissed hosts Bradley for 73 with F Akram taking 7-38.

Andy Wilson made 31 not out to push the score up from 39-8 but the Baildon Bottom side only lost two wickets in reaching their target.

Previous leaders Bingley Congs dropped to joint third place after they lost for the second time this season – by just six runs.

Home side Barrowford rattled up 181-5, Michael Baines taking 4-57, before the Beckfoot Laners stuttered to 128-7. They recovered thanks to Tom Keighley (36) and Joe Steel (25no) but fell just short on 175-8.

The Bull Holme side joined Congs in joint third place as a result along with Cullingworth, who comfortably saw off Cowling at Roydwood Terrace.

The visitors slipped from 46 to 69-6 before Craig Ratcliffe (22) and Charlie Hassan (47) helped the total to 143.

Chris Welch took 4-19 off 5.4 overs before making 63 not out in an undefeated third-wicket partnership of 66 with Omar Khatab (40no) as Cullingworth reached the target in the 20th over.

David Scothern (59) helped visitors Thornton to 172 at Crossflatts as Mick Addy took 6-57.

The home side appeared to be cruising at 158-3 but collapsed to 170-8, before getting home with four overs to spare. Josh Brooksbank made 60 and A Ayub 56 as Mark Paxton claimed 3-44.

Cononley were hustled out for 78 by visiting Embsay, with Stephen Speak taking 5-31 and John Metcalfe 4-21.

David Wellock (39no) and John Golson (22no) saw the Shires Lane side to the points by nine wickets.

Ingrow and Sandy Lane continue to set the pace in DIVISION TWO, with both sides making it five wins out of six at the weekend.

Chris White (7-44) and Ian Roberts (3-23) combined to dismiss Glusburn for 97, before Ingrow galloped home by seven wickets as skipper Mark Price made 50 not out.

Sandy Lane opener Luke Ellis blasted 106 of his side’s 180 (Dipesh Mistry 4-35) and neighbours Wilsden were then all out for 118 as Ellis bagged 3-17.

Sutton move into third place after a solid performance at Foulridge. Batting first they rattled up 218-9 in their overs, Was Hussain top-scoring with 47 as Andy Makin claimed 4-76. The Noyna side collapsed to 78 all out in the face of a fine spell by Justin Holdsworth, who finished with 7-27.

Riddlesden and Airedale are locked together in joint fourth spot and both turned in good performances.

The Stockbridge side made the short journey up the hill to Golden View to tackle Long Lee. The visitors were indebted to N Hussain (73), Steve Ayres (54) and N Kamal (42) for their total of 220-8.

The home side lost wickets cheaply and soon found themselves 55-7, of which opener Matt Taylor had made 30. A late cameo from Shabaz Ahmed (26) provided a little fun for the disappointed Golden View outfit. They were undone by the day’s best bowling performance of 8-40 in 12 overs by N Razak.

Airedale entertained Chatburn and, going first, posted a healthy 180, A Mahmood making a fine 77 as Russell Braithwaite took 4-52. The Ribble Valley side were knocked over for 91 in reply, Nadeem Zaman taking 5-24 and Mahmood 4-34.

Junior Ben Stockton took 5-47 as Pendle Forest posted 160 at Shires Lane after being 97-8 at one point. Then Peter Hakin (28) and J Wilkinson (32) put on 63 for the ninth wicket. Embsay’s sorry reply could only muster 69 as Wilkinson took 4-16 and Hakin 3-15.

Ten-man Cononley Seconds were humiliated at Skipton CI in DIVISION THREE, being all out for just 15 as Steve Davidson took 5-9. The hosts knocked off their target in 20 balls without loss.

Leaders Ingrow St John’s just got the better of a low-scoring game at Gargrave, winning by seven runs after only posting 92 against John Beckwith (5-14). The hosts slumped from 78-5 to 85 all out (M Qadeer 4-23).

In second spot are Haworth WE, who were too strong for nine-man Crossflatts Seconds at Penistone Park.

The visitors enjoyed an opening stand of 77 but then lost eight wickets adding another 50 runs. Scott Baxter (58) was the main contributor as Jack Shimmin took 4-6 in 11 balls. Then opener Joe Bottomley hit 78 not out to set up a fine eight-wicket triumph.

Oakworth Seconds were shot out for just 99 at Cure Hill, with last man Ian Jackson making 24 as 28 was added for the final wicket. Visitors Glusburn faired worse as they were skittled for just 50 in reply, Jackson taking 5-20 and Adam Smith 5-22. Denholme went down by three wickets at home to Cullingworth Seconds and Haworth Road Seconds lost by 125 runs at home to Eldwick & Gilstead, with Andy Maude (5-22) and D O’Hara (5-34) the successful bowlers.

DIVISION FOUR leaders Barrowford Seconds are the only undefeated side throughout the league.

They made the short journey to tackle nine-man neighbours Pendle Forest Seconds, who were restricted to 102-8 with T Haythornthwaite making 44 as P Carey took 4-46. The Bull Holme side were made to work hard to stay undefeated, taking 30 overs to reach their target for the loss of seven wickets.

Second-placed Ingrow St John’s Seconds were thwarted by the weather at Chatburn. Batting first they made 168, Sarum Farooq and Farman Haider both scoring 33 as Chris Mulhearn and Chris Waddington took four wickets each. The Ribble Valley side had reached 22-1 off four overs when play was halted.

Joint-third Riddlesden Seconds amassed 242 led by Steve Kernan (81) and Jimmy Spencer (64), who put on 139 for the first wicket. Visitors Long Lee Seconds were never in the hunt and subsided to 92 all out, I Mehrban taking 4-27.

The other joint third side are Little Marsden, who faired even better than Riddlesden. Up at Ingrow they whacked 263-8, Shammy Hussain making a splendid 105. In reply the Hainworth side were bundled out for 77, U Ahmed taking 6-41 as extras top-scored with 23. No 10 N Percy with 17 was the leading batsman.

Sandy Lane Seconds got the better of their derby at Wilsden Seconds, winning by 35 runs, while Bradley were dismissed for a paltry 36 as D Baines took 5-11 and F Ul-Hassan 3-5. Bradford & Bingley Thirds sauntered home by nine wickets in 7.5 overs.

Bingley Congs, Thornton and Airedale are joint leaders of DIVISION FIVE. Tony Teale bagging a hat-trick in Congs Seconds’ three-wicket victory over Skipton CI Seconds.

Thornton Seconds enjoyed a 72-run victory over Denholme Seconds at Booth Bridge Lane, with Matt McGuiness (54no), Mick Foster (46) and Mark Oldfield (5-30) their main contributors. I Murray scored 51 for the visitors.

Airedale Seconds tackled Pendle Forest Thirds at Victory Park and scored 152 batting first, with K Allen making 35 as Matt Day took 5-57. The Fence side’s innings closed on a miserable 37-9, with Giles Wilmore taking 6-15.

Sutton Seconds beat Foulridge Seconds by eight wickets at Royd Hill.

Graham Aldred (43) and C Shimmin (4-18) were the main contributors in Haworth WE Seconds’ 43-run victory over Cowling Seconds. Veteran Steve Dalby and 14-year-old Sam Solley top-scored with 20 apiece for the losers.

Oakworth Thirds’ James Lee hit a sparkling 105 as his side posted 222-5 at Gargrave Seconds. The hosts replied with 156-7, skipper Tony Boreham making 47 not out and under-17 Will Stanley 33.

Haworth Seconds rattled up 197-8 at Eldwick & Gilstead Seconds, Gary Searby top-scoring with 49. The home side were then devasted by Searby (6-2) and Derek Bright (4-8), totalling just 11. At one point the score stood at 0-6 as the innings contained eight ducks.

The one outstanding COWLING CUP first-round tie was completed on a weather-hit Sunday, with Pendle Forest Thirds and Oakworth Seconds opting for a 20-over thrash.

The Cure Hill side smashed 177, Jack Ellis making 103, and the Fence team were dismissed for 43, with Oakworth now away to Embsay Seconds in the next round.
