Clubs in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League have been torn off a strip over the standard of their scoresheets.

The league’s fixture secretary Graham Langton issued his warning at their monthly meeting at Clayton Amateur Rugby League Club.

He said: “The standard is an absolute joke.

“In the first week of matches, only eight of the 34 scoresheets were filled in correctly, and there were only four correct for the second week, while in the fourth week only West Bowling were correct out of the 34 sheets.

“Teams are given as playing at home when they are playing away or the wrong team names have been left in.

“Also players’ names are not being filled in properly. There is Fizz and Fazz. That is no good. I need full names, otherwise I have to get the registration list and try and work out who it is.

“And it is no good putting Singh or Patel if there are three of them on each side! I need initials or christian names.”

Langton continued: “In another game, one sheet said a batsman scored 114 not out and the other said he scored 96 not out.

“How do I know which is correct, and remember I am supposed to be working out the end-of-season averages too?”

“Also clubs should remember to put in the fall of wickets, otherwise I cannot work out whether there has been a century partnership for the handbook.

“And I am getting three or four sheets of paper for one result, and in one case I got eight sheets for two games.”

League chairman Nick Spachis said: “If things do not improve, then we will have to look at possible sanctions.”
