Just two games into the new AIRE-WHARFE League season, only seven of the 36 teams have a 100 per cent record.

And at least two of those are bound to go on Saturday as the fixtures have thrown up top-of-the-table clashes.

Few would have tipped Thackley to be early front runners in Division One but Leon Harber’s men have stormed out of the blocks.

With Mahir Ali quickly back into wicket-taking and new recruits Adam Morgan and Rishabh Jain impressing, they have already knocked over Otley and Bilton.

Now they face Collingham, who have also taken full points, albeit against Rawdon and Guiseley, who already look as though the summer might be a struggle.

Ben Rhydding have made a brilliant start to life in Division Two but face their hardest match so far when they travel to Pool, whose perfect start reflects their position as favourites to bounce back after relegation.

Harden also have a 100 per cent start and take on Olicanian, who after defeat by Ben Rhydding overcame Menston thanks mainly to the efforts of skipper Ed Brown.

Horsforth languished for much of last season but two wins out of two sees them top of Division Three. However, they face a tough test against Illingworth, who have only dropped a point.

Ilkley are much fancied to go up from Division Three after two near misses but they have made a stuttering start and their mettle will be severely tested against Colton, who looked impressive in their two opening wins.

Back in Division One, Green Lane travel to Adel, while Otley are at Follifoot. Defending champions Burley, who have only managed two losing draws, entertain Guiseley while Rawdon will hope to get their first points at Beckwithshaw.

Bolton Villas take on Upper Wharfedale, while Menston continue to acclimatise after promotion with a visit to Knaresborough. Tong Park Esholt will need to watch out for Aussie Shane McNamara, who has helped Steeton get off to a solid start.

Silsden should be too strong for New Rover in Division Three, who have yet to impress.

Addingham entertain Woodhouse, while Hall Park will need a big improvement if they are to get anything at Skipton where Gary Owen and Sam Baldwin have hit early form with the ball.
