The wet weather of Saturday afternoon and evening put a great strain on Cullingworth getting the ground ready for the Mewies Solicitors Craven League's Cowling Cup final on Sunday.

However, the groundstaff worked tirelessly through the morning to have it ready for a prompt 1.30pm start.

Barrowford II and Ingrow II had met the day before down the road at Hainworth and it was the home side that were ahead on points when play was curtailed.

Ingrow had first go on a damp but perfectly playable pitch the following day, and made 161-9 in their overs.

Pete Gledhill 41 (five fours, two sixes) set the early pace and it was a fighting captain's knock of 34no (five fours) by Nick Coppack that enabled the Hainworth side to post the total they did as Ajmal Choudrhy finished with 4-33 and Mohammed Shahid 4-50.

The Bull Holme side’s innings got off to a stuttering start from which it never really recovered.

The prize wickets of Choudrhy and Nabeel Ahmed were claimed before they could unleash their undoubted talent at this level to leave the score on 35-3.

Oli Shaw battled to 32 and then evergreen David Wilkinson, although he was last out for 22, struggled to time the ball against some good bowling.

Neil Kennedy sent the leg stump cart-wheeling on three separate occasions in his excellent return of 5-37.

Martin Casey backed him up with a good spell of 3-22. The innings closed on 117.

League secretary Ann Coe presented the trophies to the players and the man of the match award was shared by Ingrow bowlers Kennedy and Casey.
