Visitors to Bradford Industrial Museum will be bowled over as they celebrate the history of the Bradford Cricket League until mid-August.

The Bradford League has provided Yorkshire with talented young players for over a century and the ‘107 Not Out’ exhibition recognises this achievement.

It includes archive images and memorabilia of some of the greatest names to have played in the league, including Sir Leonard Hutton, Herbert Sutcliffe, Eddie Paynter and, more recently, Matthew Hoggard.

Household names such as Brian Clough and Murphy Walwyn are also featured, along with locally-born Asian talent.

There are contributions from the MCC Museum at Lord’s and Yorkshire County Cricket Club, as well as aerial images showing club grounds from the CH Wood collection.

The event is linked with the Yorkshire Cricket Mela to be held from July 10-25, featuring events in Bradford and the Pakistan v England match at Headingley.

Councillor Paul Flowers, Bradford Council’s executive member for culture, tourism and sport, said: “The Bradford League is one of the most famous and competitive leagues in the country.

“This is a great opportunity to mark its achievements and what it has done for the city and region.”
