It’s as you were at the top of the Division One of the Bradford Central League, with both Allerton and Girlington recording comprehensive victories on Saturday.

Girlington romped to a nine-wicket win at Thornbury (116) thanks to an unbroken second-wicket partnership of 119 between Harib Shah (60) and Harris Butt (49).

Joint leaders Allerton (42-0) maintained their 100 per cent start with a ten-wicket demolition of visitors Greenfield, who were shot out for a mere 39.

Third-in-the-table Salem Athletic are just one point away from the top two. They collected five points from their home game with Great Horton Church.

Batting first, Salem clocked up an impressive 293 for seven, with Mohammed Waqas (69), Abdul Samad (64no) and Nawaish Khan (52) all prominent.

In reply, Great Horton Church closed at 189 for nine (Asif Mahmood 56, Aquib Hussain 50).

In the final fixture, visitors Apperley Bridge were indebted to Waqas Ahmed and Shezad Butt, who both contributed 53 in their side’s total of 170 for seven.

Homesters Norwood Green were sent back for just 118 (Niyaz Khan 5-19).

Salem Athletic (179-9) are the new leaders of Division Two after a narrow one-wicket win at previous table-toppers Great Horton Church (177-8).

Mohammed Siraj (73) and Shahid Iqbal (48) made major contributions for Salem and 15-year-old Abdul Aziz return figures of five for 20 for Great Horton.

Thornbury (183) recorded a 71-run win at Girlington (112), where Salman Syed scored 91 with the bat before taking three for seven with the ball for the visitors.

Norwood Green (232-7) recorded a 116-run win at Apperley Bridge, with Taheer Rashid (79) and Hasan Khan (53) to the fore.
